Dermatological problems are widespread and often frustrating for animals, vets and owners,
We are also happy to help you with treatment-resistant or severe cases. However, many allergic skin diseases are difficult to cure, but with appropriate management the patient can lead a happy life. Good examples of such diseases are asthma, hay fever and atopic dermatitis, often referred to as neurodermatitis or eczema.
Reasons for a referral:
- The diagnosis of the skin disease is not possible or very difficult to make with the resources available in the practice
- The diagnosis is known, but you have no experience with the management of this disease
- The patient is not responding to current therapies
- The owner would like a second opinion: We most frequently see patients with flea bite allergy where the owner did not believe the diagnosis of the practicing veterinarian
- The patient is referred for an ongoing study: We are particularly grateful for these referrals, because without you our studies could not be carried out
For referred patients, the necessary diagnostic tests or treatments are discussed in detail with the owners and a written summary of the visit is given to the owner. Within 24 hours, a referral letter will be written and sent to the referring veterinarian. If you prefer a fax or email, please let us know.
If you have any questions about our joint patients, please feel free to contact us by telephone. The most effective way is to leave a message at reception Tel: +49 (0)89 / 2180-2650 with the name of the patient/owner, the question, your name and telephone number and the time when you can best be reached. A cell phone number may also be helpful, as we may be busy with patients in our clinic during your consultation hours. A vet from the dermatology team will call you back as soon as possible. Sending an e-mail is also a good way to contact us at Kleintier.Dermatologie@lmu.de
If you have to wait too long for a remittance or have any other comments about your remittance, we are always grateful for an e-mail or a phone call.
